Mezzanine Makeover
This was a shopping & styling project that covered two distinct areas of the Mezzanine Hotel.
Plunge pools were added to some VIP rooms. These were built to also allow space for people to spend time on the patio. The pools were constructed using an ancient Mayan technique of creating a stucco-like material called chukum, where the bark of a thorny tree is boiled twice and mixed with concrete. It is stronger than stucco and has a rosy, warm look unique to that material.
In addition, the public areas were updated with new furnishings. We selected aluminum chairs with polyester rope and Sunbrella fabrics for an updated look that is also comfortable and long-lasting. The selection of the right materials for each space is always a priority in the design process.
This all resulted in a beautiful, fresh new look with materials the hotel owners know were a good investment.
